By preserving the traditional character of homespun handwoven textiles, it became possible to create a fabric using specially designed yarns with their own visual character. Each yarn is multi-dyed in several colors over just a few centimeters, with every strand touched by human hands during the process. When woven together, these yarns create the rich depth and nuanced texture unique to homespun fabrics. Carefully selected wool was dyed by hand, spun by hand, and slowly woven by hand, resulting in a fabric known for its softness and warmth. Today, homespun has evolved as a form of tweed that values the character of handcraft. In Japan, it has also taken root in regions such as Iwate and Yamagata, where sheep farming is common.
