ラムウールを使用したホームスパンのきものです。
糸一本一本をグラデーションで染め分けることで、チェック柄が溶け合うような繊細で奥行きのある表情を生み出しました。ラムウールならではのとろけるような柔らかさが身体を優しく包み込み、細やかに表現されたチェック柄と相まって、着る人の心まであたためてくれる一着です。

Homespun series
ジャケットなどに用いられるツイード生地を使用したきものと、きものに合わせるコート「道中着」を製作。
ホームスパンとは、英国生まれの毛織物で、「home（家）」で「spun（紡ぐ）」ことに由来します。もともと羊毛農家が自家用に紡ぎ織ったのが始まりで、厳選した羊毛を手で染め、手で紡ぎ、手織りでゆっくりと仕上げた生地は、柔らかくあたたかみのある風合いが特徴です。
現在では、手しごとの風合いを大切にしたツイードの一種として発展し、日本でも岩手や山形など、羊の飼育が盛んな土地に根づいた産業として受け継がれています。ARCHが大切にする“その土地ならではの手しごと”の魅力に光を当て、世界を見渡す視点を一枚のきものに宿しています。

This kimono is crafted from homespun lambswool, with each thread dyed in a gradient to create a delicate, layered check pattern that seems to softly blend together. The melt-in-your-hands softness of lambswool gently wraps the body, and the intricately expressed checks give warmth not only to the wearer’s body but also to the spirit.

Homespun Series
Using tweed fabrics originally meant for jackets, this series includes kimonos and matching dochu-gi coats. Homespun originated in Britain, named for wool spun at home. Shepherds initially spun and wove wool for personal use; today, the hand-dyed, hand-spun, and handwoven fabric retains a soft, warm texture. In Japan, this craft has continued in regions like Iwate and Yamagata, where sheep farming is common. ARCH highlights the unique craftsmanship of each region, weaving it into every kimono with a global perspective.
