Homespun Series This collection uses tweed fabrics traditionally found in jackets to create kimonos and matching dochu-gi coats. Homespun originates from Britain—“home spun” literally refers to wool spun at home. Initially, shepherds hand-spun and wove their own wool. The carefully hand-dyed, hand-spun, and handwoven fabrics are soft, warm, and full of texture. In Japan, this craft has continued in regions like Iwate and Yamagata, where sheep farming is prominent.
