While Kurume kasuri is typically used for autumn and winter cotton kimonos, we achieved a “Kurume kasuri yukata” by weaving with extra-fine threads of the same thickness as those usually used for yukata. The aurora-like gradient is created using six colors for the warp threads, a rare design in Kurume kasuri where solid-colored threads are standard. Across the 13-meter length of fabric, no two sections are identical—making each piece uniquely special. We named it “aurora” to capture the feeling of your own magical moment.
