ホームスパンの手織りの風合いを守り続けているからこそ、糸自体にデザイン性をもたせた特殊な糸による織物づくりが叶いました。数センチ単位で多色染めを施した糸には、一本一本にまで人の手が加えられています。こうした糸で織り上げることで、ホームスパンならではの奥行きある表情が生まれました。
コーディネート次第で日常にも特別なシーンにも馴染みますので、幅広いシーンでご着用いただけます。

Homespun series
ジャケットなどに用いられるツイード生地を使用したきものと、きものに合わせるコート「道中着」を製作。
ホームスパンとは、英国生まれの毛織物で、「home（家）」で「spun（紡ぐ）」ことに由来します。もともと羊毛農家が自家用に紡ぎ織ったのが始まりで、厳選した羊毛を手で染め、手で紡ぎ、手織りでゆっくりと仕上げた生地は、柔らかくあたたかみのある風合いが特徴です。
現在では、手しごとの風合いを大切にしたツイードの一種として発展し、日本でも岩手や山形など、羊の飼育が盛んな土地に根づいた産業として受け継がれています。ARCHが大切にする“その土地ならではの手しごと”の魅力に光を当て、世界を見渡す視点を一枚のきものに宿しています。

This kimono is crafted from premium homespun tweed that preserves the warmth and character of traditional handweaving. The threads themselves are specially designed, with multicolored dye applied in small sections and human touch evident in every strand. Woven together, these threads create the depth and texture unique to homespun fabric, giving the kimono a rich, layered expression. Its versatile design allows it to blend seamlessly into both everyday wear and special occasions.

Homespun Series
This collection uses tweed fabrics traditionally found in jackets to create kimonos and matching dochu-gi coats. Homespun originates from Britain—“home spun” literally refers to wool spun at home. Initially, shepherds hand-spun and wove their own wool. The carefully hand-dyed, hand-spun, and handwoven fabrics are soft, warm, and full of texture. In Japan, this craft has continued in regions like Iwate and Yamagata, where sheep farming is prominent. ARCH highlights the unique craftsmanship of these regions, capturing its essence in every kimono.
