オリジナルカラーの久留米絣（くるめかすり）着物です。
木綿の吸湿性と保温性を併せ持ち、単衣仕立てにすることで春・秋・冬とロングシーズンでお召しいただける木綿着物です。織物は久留米を中心とする福岡県南部筑後地方で生産される日本三大絣の一つ「久留米絣」。水洗いと天日干しによるしっかりとした生地は、丈夫でコシがあります。絣とは、糸を染める際に「くくり」という作業で染まらない部分を作り織り上げることでさまざまな柄を表現する技法です。絣で表現される文様は、精微な作業ながらわずかな輪郭のずれが「ぼかし」という味を引き出し、人のぬくもりを感じさせてくれます。また絣織りならではのデザイン性は、ワンランク上の着姿を演出。きちんと感を出すには名古屋帯、気軽に色々な結び方を楽しむには半幅帯がおすすめです。

This is a Kurume kasuri kimono in an original color.

Combining the moisture-absorbing and heat-retaining qualities of cotton, and tailored as an unlined kimono, it can be worn for a long season from spring through autumn and winter. The textile is Kurume kasuri, one of the three major kasuri textiles of Japan, produced mainly in the Chikugo region in southern Fukuoka Prefecture, centered around Kurume. The fabric, thoroughly finished through water washing and sun drying, is durable and has a firm texture.

Kasuri is a technique in which threads are bound during the dyeing process to create areas that resist dye. When woven, this produces a variety of patterns. Although the patterns expressed through kasuri require delicate work, the slight shifts in the outlines create a soft blurred effect called “bokashi,” giving the fabric a sense of human warmth. In addition, the design quality unique to kasuri weaving creates a refined kimono appearance. For a more formal look, a Nagoya obi is recommended, while a hanhaba obi is ideal for casual styling and enjoying various tying styles.
