ラムウールを使用したホームスパンのきものと道中着。
糸一本一本をグラデーションで染め分けることで、チェック柄が溶け合うような繊細で奥行きのある表情を生み出しました。ラムウールならではのとろけるような柔らかさが身体を優しく包み込み、細やかに表現されたチェック柄と相まって、着る人の心まであたためてくれる一着です。

Homespun series
ジャケットなどに用いられるツイード生地を使用したきものと、きものに合わせるコート「道中着」を製作。
ホームスパンとは、英国生まれの毛織物で、「home（家）」で「spun（紡ぐ）」ことに由来します。もともと羊毛農家が自家用に紡ぎ織ったのが始まりで、厳選した羊毛を手で染め、手で紡ぎ、手織りでゆっくりと仕上げた生地は、柔らかくあたたかみのある風合いが特徴です。
現在では、手しごとの風合いを大切にしたツイードの一種として発展し、日本でも岩手や山形など、羊の飼育が盛んな土地に根づいた産業として受け継がれています。ARCHが大切にする“その土地ならではの手しごと”の魅力に光を当て、世界を見渡す視点を一枚のきものに宿しています。

Homespun Kimono and Dochugi Coat in Lambswool

This kimono and dochugi coat from the Homespun series are crafted using lambswool, known for its exceptional softness. Each yarn is gradient-dyed individually, allowing the check pattern to blend softly into itself, creating a delicate design with remarkable depth.

The melting softness of lambswool gently wraps the body in warmth, while the finely expressed check pattern adds visual richness. Together, they create a garment that feels as comforting to wear as it is beautiful to look at.

This series features kimono made from tweed fabric often used for jackets, along with a dochugi coat designed to be worn over kimono.

Homespun is a wool textile that originated in Britain. The name comes from “home” and “spun,” referring to yarn that was spun at home. Originally, sheep farmers spun and wove wool for their own use. Carefully selected wool was dyed by hand, spun by hand, and slowly handwoven, resulting in a fabric known for its softness and warmth.

Today, homespun has evolved as a type of tweed that preserves the character of handcraft. In Japan, it has also developed as a local industry in regions such as Iwate and Yamagata, where sheep farming is common. This piece reflects ARCH’s philosophy of celebrating craft traditions rooted in specific places, bringing a global perspective into a single kimono.
