新潟県・小千谷地域で親しまれてきた染色「乱絣」。
小千谷市・片貝を“さんち”とする片貝木綿に、乱絣の糸を経緯に用い、チェック柄の中にそっと忍ばせました。乱絣を色の変化として際立たせるのではなく、柄の中に自然になじませることで、近くで見るほどに新たな発見が生まれます。
落ち着いた地色と、ほのかに浮かび上がる乱絣が、甘さを抑えたチェック柄をつくります。主張しすぎない佇まいながら、日々の装いの中でさりげない存在感を楽しめる一着です。

“Ran-kasuri” is a dyeing technique that has long been cherished in the Ojiya region of Niigata Prefecture.
We’ve incorporated Ran-kasuri yarn into both the warp and weft of Katakai Cotton—a fabric named after Katakai in Ojiya City, known as “Sanchi”—gently weaving it into the check pattern. Rather than highlighting the Ran-kasuri as a distinct color variation, we’ve blended it naturally into the pattern, so that the closer you look, the more you discover.
The subdued base color and the faintly emerging Ran-kasuri create a check pattern with a subtle sweetness. While its appearance is understated, this piece offers a subtle yet distinctive presence that you can enjoy as part of your everyday attire.
