泥染めを施した本場奄美大島紬（正絹）です。
伝統工芸品に指定された大島紬は、誰もが憧れる最高峰の着物。泥染め、正藍染めを得意とする牧絹織物（奄美大島）が創作した遊び心溢れる逸品です。

＜素材＞
正絹の細い生糸を使用し、高密度に織り上げました。糸の精製から染付け（色の摺り込み）まで全て分業で行われ、織り上げるまでに沢山の工程を経ます。手間のかかった糸自体がとても丈夫な素材ですので、母から子へ、孫へと永く受け継がれる着物になります。すっきりとした着心地で、大島紬独特の衣ずれの音をお楽しみください。

＜デザイン＞
絣（かすり）と呼ばれる点を施し柄表現をする大島紬。織物でありながら、染めで描かれたような緻密な柄表現が特徴です。この緻密な表現はすべて手仕事で生み出される賜物。1mmにも満たない絣（かすり）の点を織工が合わせ、反物1反をすべて手織りで仕上げています。
波の表情を大小の絣（かすり）で表現し、無限に続く波に未来の平和への願いを込めました。所々に織り上げられたアマミブルーの星は、砂浜で星の砂を見つけたときの喜びと感動を表現しています。お仕立て後、ブルーの星を探すワクワク感で幸せな気持ちを運び、あなたのとっておきの一枚になりますように。

This is an authentic Amami Oshima Tsumugi (pure silk) kimono dyed using the traditional mud-dyeing technique.
Oshima Tsumugi, designated as a traditional craft of Japan, is considered one of the most admired and prestigious kimono textiles. This playful yet refined piece was created by Maki Silk Weaving (Amami Oshima), known for its mastery of mud dyeing and natural indigo dyeing.

Material
Using fine raw silk threads, the fabric is woven at high density. From thread preparation to dye application, every step is carried out through specialized craftsmanship, involving numerous processes before the fabric is completed. Because of this meticulous work, the threads themselves are extremely durable, making this a kimono that can be passed down from mother to child and even to future generations. Enjoy the clean, comfortable feel and the distinctive rustling sound unique to Oshima Tsumugi.

Design
Oshima Tsumugi expresses patterns using tiny dots called kasuri. Although it is a woven textile, the designs appear as if they were painted through dyeing. These intricate patterns are entirely the result of hand craftsmanship. Each kasuri dot, often less than 1 mm in size, is carefully aligned by skilled weavers, and every bolt of fabric is handwoven from start to finish.

The pattern depicts waves through kasuri dots of varying sizes, symbolizing waves that continue endlessly and carrying a wish for peace in the future. Scattered within the design are Amami blue stars, inspired by the joy and wonder of discovering “star sand” along the beaches of Amami.
