天然染料を重ね、糸を染め上げた片貝木綿です。
松煙・弁柄・柿渋といった天然染料で染め、小千谷地域に特徴的な「乱絣」を織り込み、“さんち”の風土をまとう一着に仕立てあがりました。
松の煤（すす）を用いた松煙染めの深みある墨色をベースに、赤土の温もりを感じる弁柄染めや、独特の風合いや経年変化が魅力の柿渋染めを重ね合わせ、やわらかな奥行きを表現しました。

This Katakai cotton is yarn-dyed using layers of natural dyes.
The threads are dyed with natural materials such as pine soot, bengala (red iron oxide), and persimmon tannin, then woven with the distinctive ran-gasuri pattern characteristic of the Ojiya region, resulting in a piece that embodies the climate and character of the textile-producing region.

A deep, ink-like black created through pine soot dyeing forms the base, layered with bengala dye that evokes the warmth of red earth, and persimmon tannin dye, known for its unique texture and beautiful aging over time. Together, these natural dyes create a soft sense of depth and richness.
