Botanical dyeという技法を用い、バラや紅花など通年手に入る植物に加え、その季節ならではの花々を使用。ログウッドや蘇芳（すおう）、玉ねぎの皮など草木染めの素材も組み合わせながら、色味を丁寧に調整しています。

伝統的な手染め技法を用いながら、自然の色彩や質感、光や水の気配を思わせる表現を探求。臈纈染め・抜染・顔料によるシルクスクリーンなど、多様な技法を重ねながら、偶発的に生まれる表情と緻密な工程を交差させ、再現性のない美しさを生み出しています。

This is a large bag dyed using botanical dyes.
Using the technique of botanical dyeing, we use plants that are available year-round, such as roses and safflower, as well as seasonal flowers. We also carefully adjust the colors by combining them with other plant-dyeing materials such as logwood, sappanwood, and onion skins.

【Funatabi Atelier】
Funatabi Atelier is a label of hand-dyed clothing run by dyer Motoko Oki.
The name "Funatabi" (boat journey) embodies a cherished appreciation for the creative process itself.
Using traditional hand-dyeing techniques, the label explores expressions that evoke the colors and textures of nature, as well as the presence of light and water. By layering diverse techniques such as batik, discharge dyeing, and pigment-based silkscreen printing, the label intertwines serendipitously created expressions with meticulous processes to produce a beauty that cannot be replicated.
